Synopsis: 

Yukiteru Amano (or Yuki) is a loner who never really interact with people and prefers writing a diary on his cell phone with his only companion being an imaginary friend named Deus Ex Machina, the God of Time and Space. However, Yuki soon learns that Deus is not a figment of his imagination but real when Deus makes him a participant in a battle royale with eleven others. Within this "Diary Game", the contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future with each diary having unique features that gives them both advantages and disadvantages. Within the next 90 days, the contestants must try to kill each other and survive until there is only one alive where the winner becomes the new God of Time and Space. In order to survive, Yuki tries to find allies and friends to help him with one of them being another diary user named Yuno Gasai, a girl who is madly in love with him. As the game continues, Yuki soon learns that not everyone can be trusted, not even Yuno, whose obsession to keep both of them alive no matter the cost terrifies him. Thus begins the game of life and death, where everyone wants to win, no matter the cost.

Luna's Review:

Story 10 - Story is amazing, when you start off Mirai Nikki you noticed that the first few episodes are deceiving, but not in a bad way. The anime does start to pick up and deliver right from the beginning. Each episode there is usually a plot twist and something new and unexpected is bound to happen. Usually when these plot twists occur it caught my eye going "HOLY SH*T" that's crazy, I didn't expect this, what is going on, MINDCRUSH!

Art 8 - Art is decent. Not much to say.

Sound 8 - The music was good,  The voices were fine. I felt like it played the right music such as suspense and when it comes to a happy tune, it sounded fine.

Characters 10 - Characters are amazing. Gasai Yuno is a perfect example of Yandare. The main character Yukiteru who is also socially awkward, but is pitted against other diary holders trying to kill eachother including himself. Each character plays a great role. The character development  is outstanding. Everyone blends in and you'll always have a flashback of their past life understanding the situtation of every character and how they turn out to be.

Enjoyment 9 - After watching 1 episode of "Mirai Nikki", it caught my attention. There was gore, there was a crazy Yandre SOB going happy then insane then SOB! What makes it better is when it gets close to the end. It makes you wonder how everything turns out at the end.

Overall 9 - I would give this overall a 9, maybe 9.5 depending on the outcome of this anime. "Mirai Nikki" has a great plot. A psychological thriller with gore is not your typical anime. I would suggest anyone who loves psychological thriller to watch this especially if you enjoyed watching "Death Note".
